Storytelling With Data: Bringing Your Story to Life

This year’s conference theme looks at the increasing importance of telling your institution's story. In the digital age, our data stories can offer contextual insight.

We hope you will join us at MdAIR’s Fall 2017 Annual Conference!

Keynote Speaker

Our keynote speaker is Dr. Andrea Lex, Senior Vice President for Operations at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Dr. Lex will discuss the new Middle States standards which place an even greater emphasis on articulating data as evidence for the institutions’ efforts in meeting the goals they have set for themselves as well as with the accreditation standards.

Tell Me a Story

We all like a good story – particularly when the ending is happy and/or inspirational.  Literary scholars tell us that the best stories have a clear and sustained focus, well-defined characters, and a compelling plot that leads to a thoughtful resolution.  Perhaps attending to some of these principles of good writing can assist us to more effectively use data to share our story with our many audiences and stakeholders.
